BYD Prepares for Production in Turkey with Its New Long-Range SUV Model
BYD, which is preparing to start production in Turkey, has introduced its new long-range SUV model. The electric SUV, known as the Song Pro DM-i in China, is being sold under the name Seal U DM-i in Turkey. While no official statement has been made yet, there is a high probability that the range-updated model will be produced in Turkey.
Will the 1400 km Range Hybrid BYD SUV Be Produced in Turkey?
BYD has renewed its Song Pro DM-i (Seal U DM-i) model. With this renewal, the BYD Seal U DM-i SUV has transitioned to the 5th generation DM Plug-in model, extending its total range to 1400 km. This PHEV hybrid model combines a 1.5-liter engine, producing a maximum power of 74 kW (99 hp), with two motors that generate 120 kW (160 hp) of power.
The new BYD Seal U DM-i comes with two battery packs with capacities of 12.96 kWh and 18.31 kWh. These packs provide 75 km and 115 km of pure electric range, respectively. In battery-depleted mode, the vehicle’s fuel consumption ranges between 4.85 and 4.9 liters per 100 km.

The updated BYD SUV hybrid electric car also includes new features that enhance comfort. These include 50W wireless phone charging, a smart voice interaction system, and support for the PM2.5 air quality management system. Inside, there are 31-color ambient lighting, an NFC-enabled smartphone key, and BYD smart cloud services.
The Seal U DM-i model measures 4735 mm in length, 1860 mm in width, and 1710 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2712 mm.
